The Drum Fire is nearing full containment in the Buellton area.
The fire was first reported Sunday afternoon and fire officials say accurate mapping shows nearly 700 acres burned.
As of Tuesday morning, Santa Barbara County Fire officials say the burn area is 80 percent contained. Firefighters will continue mop up and containment efforts throughout the day and aim to have the burn scar 100 percent contained by 8 p.m.
Foggy conditions and low overnight temperatures helped crews increase containment from 60 to 80 percent overnight, according to officials.
