Temps warm slightly into the weekend

Posted at 6:16 AM, Jul 17, 2020

Friday is starting out with marine layer and low clouds across the Central Coast. The patchy fog will clear by midday and give way to mostly sunny skies.

The pattern of night and morning clouds at the coast with afternoon clearing continues through the weekend.

The trough of low pressure that cooled temperatures earlier in the week is exiting and being replaced by high pressure. Expect temperatures to warm gradually over the weekend.

Beaches will see daytime highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Coastal valleys will warm into the upper 70s and low 80s and inland locations will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.

It will be breezy across the area but especially inland where winds are forecast to gust to 25mph Friday afternoon.

Temperatures will cool off slightly next week as a weak trough moves into the area.
