The Central Coast is warming up Thursday as temperatures climb to the 70s

Thursday morning commuters can expect patchy and low clouds across the interior valleys of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. These overcast conditions will clear out by mid-morning and be replaced by mostly sunny skies.

For those heading out the door between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., morning temperatures will be right around the 40s for much of the area. By the afternoon, as a ridge of high pressure develops, daytime highs will warm up. In the coastal valleys, maximum temperatures could reach the mid-70s, while the inland valleys and beaches have the potential to be close to the mid to upper 60s. Along with the warmer temperatures, 15-25 mile per hour northeasterly winds will also be in the forecast through the afternoon hours.

These warmer conditions are expected to last through Sunday before a weak cold front brings cloudy skies and a slight chance for rain.
