Happy first day of spring! Many may notice that the first day of spring is a day earlier this year. Usually the new season is welcomed on March 20, but according to Almanac.com, the earlier change to the season is due to the number of days in a year not being even. The first day of spring will be cool with a chance of showers throughout much of the day.
High temperatures will stay about two to four degrees below normal, keeping much of the beaches and inland valleys close to the 50s, while the coastal valleys will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s.
An upper level low will make its way over Central California Thursday, resulting in scattered shower activity throughout the day. Rainfall amounts will be light, and for areas that do receive precipitation, totals will range from 0.10''-0.25''. Aside from the rain, skies will be partly cloudy and similar to the conditions from Wednesday.
Scattered rain chances are expected to continue Friday, and by Saturday skies should be partly cloudy. Rain chances will start to increase again Sunday and Monday.
