Happy Friday, here's your Central Coast weather forecast from Meteorologist Jim Castillo

This is for San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties

Marine Layer Pattern Through the Weekend: Night-to-morning marine layer low clouds and areas of fog will remain confined to the beaches and coastal valleys along the Central Coast through the weekend. The marine influence will be strongest right along the immediate shoreline, with clearing expected inland as temperatures warm significantly away from the coast.

Temperature Outlook: An upper-level high-pressure system centered around the Four Corners region is driving southerly, monsoonal flow into Southern California, but this moisture is staying well south and east of the Central Coast.

Wind Patterns: Surface pressure gradients remain weak to moderate, with northerly gradients developing across both counties. Sub-advisory level Sundowner winds will return each evening through the weekend, with the potential for these winds to reach advisory levels by Monday evening as the pattern shows signs of weakening Saturday into early next week.

Extended Forecast - Stagnant Pattern: Upper-level flow will keep southwestern California on the western edge of high pressure, which will shift slightly from the Texas-New Mexico border toward the Arizona-New Mexico border. This positioning maintains warm conditions through the period.

Temperature Trends: Tuesday through Wednesday will bring additional warming, with areas away from the immediate coast running 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal normals. There's potential for heat advisories later next week depending on how the pattern evolves.

Have a great weekend, Central Coast!
