We are shining a light on the businesses that make up our community and are staying open.
In today's 'We're Open segment' we are highlighting SLO Mama Sweets.
The owner normally serves the community ice cream treats as a private event truck, but now she is serving neighborhoods.
Kathy Callahan and her truck visit neighborhoods when called on by community members.
She serves ice cream in safe and socially distanced manor and asks that everyone wear masks.
SLO Mama Sweets has been booked all this week.
"It's wonderful. People are being very good about staying six feet apart, socially distancing, but they get to see each other come out of their house and their friends will drive up and they can kind of stay at a distance but at least get to feel like a community again," Callahan said.
All payment is via Venmo.
If you're one of the business owners keeping the doors open or if you know of one who is we want to hear from you.
