The 67th annual Lompoc Flower Festival and Parade kicked off Wednesday at Ryon Park in Lompoc.

This year’s theme for the festival is “summertime fun and friends.”

Right now people are gearing up for the parade that will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.

After the parade is done, the Flower Festival will feature carnival rides, arts and crafts exhibitors, food booths, music, and of course the flower parade.

All the floats that are part of the parade are designed and constructed by local organizations which use flowers and natural materials for the floats.

Several parts of the park are closed because of the festival.
