The Arroyo Grande Police Department is hosting an active shooting training exercise at Arroyo Grande High School.
The trainings are scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th and Saturday, August 3rd from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police said in a statement, if you live nearby, you might see a large police presence at the high school.
You can also expect to hear “loud explosions or the sounds of simulated gun shots” throughout the day, however they say these are not emergencies, rather part of the training.
The campus will also be blocked off with caution tape and “Police Training” signs.
A safety officer will be there dressed in red, officers participating in the training will be wearing police uniforms.

PG&E will also be conducting a “Public Safety Power Shutoff” on July 30th to prepare the area in the event of a wildfire.
No power will be shut off according to Arroyo Grande Mayor Caren Ray.
Helicopters may be used in these drills.
