A deputy shot during last week’s active shooter incident in the Paso Robles area returned to light duty this week.
Kings County Sheriff’s Deputy Blake Bursiaga was pulling a CHP officer who had been shot in his bullet-proof vest to safety last Thursday when Bursiaga was shot in the leg.
The sheriff’s office says he is expected to make a full recovery.
He was met in the parking lot of the King’s County Sheriff’s Office by others with department who are recognizing him for his “heroic actions.”
The other two officers shot Thursday are expected to be OK and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputy shot in the face Wednesday morning near the Paso Robles Police Department continues his recovery.
The suspect was killed.
