The man charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of another man in Morro Bay last month was back in court Thursday.

Sean Maneely pleaded not guilty during his continued arraignment in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court.

This comes after the 53-year-old was charged with murder and a special allegation that a knife was used to commit the Jan. 25 crime.

Police say Maneely and the victim, identified as Andrew McTaggart II, 58, of Morro Bay, were arguing before McTaggart was stabbed at Morro Bay Self Storage System.

He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Maneely is due back in court next week.

He remains behind bars at San Luis Obispo County Jail without bail.
