The Project Lexi Brown Foundation has been named as Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham’s Non-Profit of the month.

Created in memory of Orcutt teen Lexi Brown, the Santa Maria-based foundation strives to honor her legacy by providing services and support to cancer patients and their families, according to a press release.

Brown battled fibroblastic sarcoma and passed away May 4, 2016, at the age of 12.

“I am honored to name the Project Lexi Brown Foundation as our Non-Profit of the Month,” Cunningham said. “This critical foundation provides children and their families with a support network and resources to help get them through the biggest fight of their lives. The foundation is an unbelievable organization doing unbelievable things for members of our community, and I could not be more grateful for all their work.”
