Bulldogs blow out Moorpark, 9-3

The Allan Hancock College baseball team defeated Moorpark, 9-3, in a Western State-North Conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon at John Osborne Field.

The Bulldogs grabbed the early 2-1 lead in the first inning after a two-run double of the bat of third baseman Ismael Hernandez.

Allan Hancock added three runs in the fourth inning as Travis Welker and Evan Kling smacked RBI base hits to make it a 6-1 Bulldogs lead.

Moorpark got a run back in the seventh thanks to a solo home run from Jayce Foster.

But the Bulldogs stretched out their lead in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings, scoring three more runs to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

Welker led the way offensively for Allan Hancock with two hits, two runs, and two RBIs. Hernandez chipped in three hits, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Allan Hancock (13-10, 5-2) will travel to Moorpark (10-11, 4-2) on Thursday for a 2:30 P.M. start.
