It was a career day for Atascadero native and Nevada Wolf Pack wide receiver Elijah Cooks.
In Nevada's 30-21 loss to Ohio in Friday's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Cooks hauled in 14 catches for 197 yards and one touchdown. His 14 receptions tied a Nevada bowl game record, and his 197 receiving yards broke a Nevada bowl game record. Both statistics are also career highs.
Cooks scored on an eight-yard strike in the fourth quarter to cut the Bobcats' lead to 30-15.
The former Greyhound finished his junior campaign with 76 catches, 926 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns.
Lompoc graduate Toa Taua carried the ball six times for 48 yards in the loss.
