There's enough dense fog filling in over the coastal regions of San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara Counties to issue an advisory through the morning commute.
Drivers should be prepared to increase following distance on local roads, including Highways 1 and 101, and State Routes 246 and 154 until at least 9:00 a.m. when the dense fog advisory expires. A marine inversion is possible along the coast Wednesday, which means it's possible beaches could stay socked in through the afternoon hours.
A cooling trend will continue Wednesday ahead of a low-pressure system that is expected to bring moisture in the form of drizzle to the Central Coast Thursday through Saturday. Right now, weather models are showing some potential for drizzle early Friday morning along the south coast region in Santa Barbara County.
For Wednesday's daytime highs, the beaches will continue to be on the cooler side with peak temperatures from the mid-to-upper 60s. Over coastal valleys, temperatures are expected to peak around the 70s and 80s and the interior valleys will range from the 80s and 90s. Despite the warmer valley temperatures Wednesday, some coastal valley locations could be back in the 60s as early as Friday.
Mild to moderate northwesterly winds are back in the forecast Wednesday with peak wind gusts around 15 miles per hour. Looking ahead to Thursday, these wind speeds will continue to taper off through the weekend.
