Morning commuters can expect a cloudy drive Friday. As the afternoon approaches, sky conditions will be partly to mostly cloudy ahead of an upper-level low that will sweep over the state and bring a chance of precipitation with it.
As for daytime highs, temperatures are expected to be below average for some cities across the Central Coast. The beaches will be sitting right around the low to mid-60s, while the coastal valleys will have a mix of 60s and 70s. Even inland valleys are cooling down to the low to mid-70s Friday.
As the low-pressure approaches, onshore flow will likely keep winds between 10 and 20 miles per hour. The low will bring drizzle to the area late Friday night through Saturday morning. The light precipitation will make for damp roads and dangerous conditions on local highways. Drivers should be reminded to slow down, increase following distance, and use windshield wipers as needed.
By the start of next week, the northeasterly flow should help clear out most cloud cover along the coast as well as increase daytime highs across most of the area.
