The Santa Barbara Public Library System is hosting a series of magic shows this week with magician Shawn McMaster.
It's all part of the Dig Into Reading Summer Reading Program.
The event is free and will be held at various library branches throughout the week.

Four people are injured and a man is behind bars after a five-vehicle crash in Santa Maria.

Tuesday night, the Santa Maria City Council decided to continue its discussion on whether to bring in the discount store Fallas to its downtown area.
The council voted 3 to 2 to push the matter to Aug. 6 in order for the City Attorney's Office to prepare findings for a denial.

The votes are in for the San Luis Obispo City Council Special Election.
Carlyn Christianson received 4,138 votes, or 47.6% of the vote.
Paul Brown followed with 3,371 votes, or 38.8%.
The third candidate, Donald Hedrick, received 217 votes, or 2.4%.
