Olivia González-Britt

Multimedia Journalist

Olivia González-Britt joined the KSBY News team in September 2023 as a multimedia journalist.

A dual citizen of the U.S. and Spain, she traded flamenco for Hollywood glamour when she made the leap from Madrid to Los Angeles at 17, officially earning her status as a certified California girl. *Cue Katy Perry’s anthem for the full effect!*

After high school, she made her way up PCH to the Bay Area, where she studied Communications at The University of California, Berkeley. Go Bears!

Her passion for journalism grew as she wrote weekly news stories for The Daily Californian, UC Berkeley’s student newspaper. This ignited her to pursue a career in journalism, and after graduating at the height of the pandemic, she landed an internship at CNN en Español as a Fact-Checker for the summer of 2020.

Bilingual in Spanish and English, Olivia started her broadcast career at the Spanish-language national channel Visión Latina, where for two years she reported on the Los Angeles Metropolitan area with a focus on environmental news.

Olivia is eager to continue her work out in the field as a community reporter for southern San Luis Obispo County at KSBY, covering local businesses, community concerns such as housing and employment, the environment, as well as people impacting our community in positive ways.

Pitch your wildest ideas or community concerns to her at olivia.gonzalezbritt@ksby.com or through her social media.
