Leslie Santibañez-Molina

Weekend Weather Anchor/Multimedia Journalist

Leslie Molina joined the KSBY team as weekend weather anchor and reporter in September 2024.

She has previously worked in Ottumwa, Iowa and most recently in Bakersfield, California.

While in Bakersfield, she covered breaking news and interviewed high-profile politicians like Sen. Adam Schiff and House Speaker Mike Johnson. Leslie also got to meet and interview important historical figures like Dolores Huerta, who fought for farmworker rights and was a crucial part of the Delano grape strikes.

When her time in Bakersfield was coming to an end, she took on the opportunity of filling in for the chief meteorologist. She is excited to continue presenting the weather forecast for Kern County and now San Luis Obispo County.

She is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants from a region known as Tierra Caliente, located in the states of Guerrero and Michoacan.  She is the first in her family to graduate from high school and obtain her bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University.

Leslie grew up in the Inland Empire and is bilingual. She is passionate about covering issues relating to agriculture, farmworker rights, and policies that impact Latino/immigrant communities. Her goal, to present the weather and report in Spanish.
