Isabella “Izzy” Romero joined the KSBY team as a multimedia journalist in late March 2025.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in sociology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, just one week before starting at KSBY.
She worked as an intern for the station during her senior year of college. She loved the station and the job so much that she decided to apply for a full-time role!
At Cal Poly, Izzy worked as a video journalist for her collegiate news outlet, Mustang News. She was also a lead anchor and Spanish reporter for her college radio station, KCPR 91.3 FM.
Izzy was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, but after spending four years on the Central Coast, she considers herself an honorary SLO local!
In her free time, Izzy loves to hike, go to the beach, shop second-hand, sing, and spend time with friends.
